Daniel Franzese Engaged to Boyfriend Joseph Bradley Phillips
More like too sweet to function! Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese is engaged to his longtime boyfriend, Joseph Bradley Phillips, his rep confirms to Us Weekly. The actor, who played Damian in the hit 2004 comedy, met his fiancé at a Starbucks in North Hollywood two years ago.
Franzese, 38, confirmed the news as well on Monday, July 18, posting an Instagram about Phillips saying yes with the location listed as Starbucks.
“Daniel knew right away that Joey was the one,” his rep told Us. “Only two weeks after dating, Daniel took one of Joey's rings, which he rarely wore, so he could have it ready for sizing for when the day would come that he proposed.”
According to his rep, Franzese also knew Phillips was the one after he spent his birthday helping others. Instead of spoiling himself, Phillips opted to feed the homeless with the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition.

“The fact that Joseph was so giving of his time to others and wanted to make a difference in other peoples lives in a selfless manner showed his true colors to Daniel,” his rep recalled to Us. “At that point, he fell in love.”
The couple, who moved in with each other just seven months after meeting, have continued to give back to the community throughout their relationship and actively work with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, GLAAD, Lambda Legal, LA LGBT Center, HRC and the Trevor Project.
