Kids' weirdest Halloween costume requests of 2019
Most kids go the simple route for Halloween, dressing up as their favorite Disney princesses or superheroes — but then there are the especially imaginative kids who think outside the box. Way outside.
Proud parents are taking to social media to show off the unusual, creative, and just plain strange costumes their kids asked for this year.
Naturally, none of them could find 'vending machine' or 'sunken ship' costumes at Party City or Spirit Halloween, so talented moms and dads have rolled up their sleeves and whipped out their glue guns to create some of the most impressive homemade costumes of 2019.
B2 please! A funny kid from Maine wanted to be a vending machine for Halloween this year, so his mother made him the costume

Vending Machine
One funny kid from Maine wanted to be a vending machine.
Felicia Osmond from Bowdoin Center showed off the incredible and unique costume her son Cam wore earlier this month in a series of Facebook photos.
'Cam asked to be a snack machine for Halloween. It seemed fitting since he's always asking for "anudder snack,"' she wrote.
'Never underestimate a woman with a glue gun and a Cricut. Total cost: $8.'
Photos show a very realistic mini snack machine with a slot for money and a window showing three options: Trident gum, peanut M&Ms, and cheese crackers. Felicia also uploaded some behind-the-scenes photos of her process.

Refrigerator
Texas resident Lisa Field revealed on Facebook that her daughter Emerson asked months ago if she could be a refrigerator for Halloween.
'I put off getting her a box thinking surely she’d change her mind, but she never did,' she said. 'So, when the perfect box crossed my path a few days before our local costume parade, we went to work!
'She came up with the idea and designed the costume and I helped her with the construction. I think it turned out pretty great and it was hilarious watching her walk in it!'
She also shared video of the very elaborate costume in action, showing Emerson walking inside the gray fridge with her hand sticking out from the side and her head peeking from the top.
The fridge doors are decorated with pictures and lists, and there are plants and boxes stored on top. When the fridge doors swing open, one can see food inside, including eggs, milk, sour cream, soup, Land 'O Lakes butter, tonic water, and peanut M&Ms.
The freezer section has banana pops, Ben & Jerry's, and Farm Rich waffles.

The Edmund Fitzgerald, a sunken freight ship from 1975
For trick-or-treating this year, a four-year-old boy from Minnesota is dressing as the Edmund Fitzgerald, a freight ship that sank on Lake Superior in 1975, killing a crew of 29.
According to MPR News, every year, Peggy Ryan asks her grandkids in August what they want to be for Halloween so she can start making their costumes. Her son Mike said his son James wanted to be the 730-foot-long ship.
When Peggy thought it was a joke, Mike said "No, he really wants to be the Edmund Fitzgerald. Do you think you could make it?"'
James has been 'infatuated' with ships and into shipwrecks lately and likes this story in particular.
Grandma obliged, spending just $10 on a four-foot ship costume that features the ships name on the side and even lights up.
Earlier this month, it went viral when Peggy's daughter, podcast host and comedy writer Erin Ryan, shared the story on Twitter.
Peggy's other grandson is going as a ghost this year.

A Taco
Sure, taco costumes exist in stores — but it's not many kids who actually ask their parents to dress them up as one for Halloween.
But Adam Morgan, the Founding Editor of the Chicago Review of Books, said that's what his daughter wanted — so his wife delivered.
In a cute photo, the little girl sticks out her tongue while wearing a white shirt with felt taco ingredients, plus an ivory-colored vest meant to be the shell.
